So how did Honda motor company gain the attention of the international market? During the 1960’s Honda started manufacturing motorcycles. These motorcycles were exported throughout the world and people loved them. These bikes had Japanese reliability, and had a sporty feel to them. They were more reliable, fuel efficient, cheaper to maintain and cheaper to purchase than any other bike. Therefore, people wanted to invest in something that’s more reliable and efficient. These great features had a negative effect on other motorcycle manufactures, which were unable to compete with Honda and eventually went bankrupt. The word Honda became synonyms throughout the world and people began trusting anything that was made by Honda.
Honda is known to manufacture electric generators, cars, jet aircrafts (due to be released in 2011), dirt bikes, personal water crafts, boat engines and a robot known as Asimo (currently a prototype). Honda is also the world largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines, which on average produces 14 million engines annually. Honda is also the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles Honda was the very first Japanese motor company to manufacture a luxury car brand, which was named Acura. Acura cars have a great combination of luxury and sports styling. However, Acura cars are not available throughout the world and are sometimes rebadged by the Honda name. Honda has been one of the big three Japanese car manufacturers. This includes Nissan and Toyota.
Honda cars also have a global presence throughout the world.
